We learn most when we make with our hands. Our hands-on approach to science engages children and ignites their curiosity and gets them started on a process of exploration. The Hands-on Science / Experiential Science pedagogy also helps in cognitive development by providing opportunities for Problem solving, Creative thinking and Critical thinking.

Join a carefully crafted ISPF summer activity programme conducted at the B.V.Jagadish Science Centre, National College Jayanagar Campus, Bangalore. This is Open in the true sense: completely free to attend, people could come in and go out whenever they want (10AM to 5PM), and anyone could try, experiment and learn a little more of science.

We are offering 5 of our carefully curated TACtivities (Tactile Science Activities) – we will provide the materials and our educator will guide participants through the process and also explain some related science along the way. Many of these TACtivities are inspired by Arvind Gupta Toys, the Maker and DIY movements. The TACtivities are aligned with the CBSE (NCSRT), ICSE and Karnataka State Board curriculum.

The workshops are designed for children in the 8-15 age-group. Children who are 6-7 years old may also attend, but will need an accompanying adult with them at all times. Those 16 and over are of course welcome to attend, as the activities are fun and engaging for people of all ages. The workshops won’t be suitable or beneficial for those 5 and below.

Even for those who have attended the ISPF workshops or Summer Camp in Bangalore before, the Science Toys and Science Experiments are unlikely to be repeats and there will be ample scope and materials to explore, make variants, document your observations and take the experience to the next level. It will be a wholly unique experience.

The Open day is being held in partnership with the B.V.Jagadish Science Centre, whose main motive is to popularise science and draw the young generation towards basic science in these days of frenzy about Information Technology and Bio-technology.

Children will need to make their own arrangements for transport and food/refreshments.

Register, so you can avoid the queue at the venue and let us know you will be coming! Save the confirmation email you receive to get your material kit for the day.
