Our Journey

Founding

ISPF was founded and funded by a group of Bangalore-based professionals. ISPF’s curating activities, experience centres and outreach activities are driven by dedicated staff.

Recent Activities

In the past three years, the ISPF team has created a collection of over 200 toys and conducted over 600 workshops for Children, Parents and Teachers. Through these workshops, the team has reached out to almost 20,000 children and 13,000 adults, 11,000 of whom have been teachers. Over 80% of the workshops have been free, mostly for government and low-income private school children and teachers.

Workshops

We have conducted multi-day workshops at schools and other establishments, where children make anywhere between 10 and 30 toys (depending on the duration of the workshop) to take back to their homes. We have conducted several teacher-training programmes for government (through DIET) and private schools in Karnataka and for thousands of Government school teachers in Chhattisgarh and Gujarat, under the auspices of the RMSA in those states.

Owerwhelming Response

The overwhelming response from both teachers and students in conducting these long-term engagement programmes has inspired us to expand our reach. In partnership with Wipro Applying Thought In Schools, ISPF started conducting weekly sessions in a systematic manner at 6 schools starting in June 2016, as part of our Rancho Labs programme. The Rancho lab programme has been extended to 20 Governments schools under an MoU with the Government of Karnataka for the academic year 2017-18. In addition to the Government, we continue the programme at 2 low cost private schools in Bangalore and several schools in Gujarat in partnership with Rotary Gandevi.

Outreach

As part of our outreach, we have held workshops for corporates and organisations such as Sasken, Ingersoll Rand, InMobi, Thermofisher, Wipro, the Royal Society of Chemistry, Bremen Overseas Research and Development Association, NIAS, the Handmade Collective etc.
